The waves washed up endlessly on the silky smooth sands of the beach and Cairo sighed happily. It was such a nice afternoon. The sun was shining, the water was a deep blue, and the sand was warm under her bare feet. The elf came across a lone bucket and, finding no obvious flaws, decided to make a sandcastle with it. She'd never actually done it before, but she'd heard about them, and it couldn't be all that hard, right?
Cairo crouched down by the edge of the water and scooped some up in the bucket before turning around and dumping it on the sand. Then she scooped the wet sand back into the bucket and packed it in hard. It never occurred to her to check and see if someone was watching. But then, she never really was one to worry about that.

A creature was slithering around in the thick seaweed of the ocean, close to the shore. It stopped to graze on a particularily thick patch, before moving on. Then, it saw a strange beast, its appearance garbled by the water surface. It swam fowards, into shallower waters, where its spindily legs carried it forth along the sand, its head just poking out of the seaweed, where it stopped. It wasn't a very smart creature, but it knew that Cairo was something new, something it hadn't seen before...
